More Rain Ahead?

Good Evening!

The summer like heat made its return today with temperatures soaring into the low to mid 90s. The humidity values varied throughout the day, making the heat index fluctuate. At one time the heat index reached 98° in Bowling Green. Current temperatures around the region are in the upper 80s to low 90s. Here is a look at temperatures via the Kentucky Mesonet.

Current Temperatures as of 3:15 PM CDT
There still is a very slight chance that we will see an isolated shower later in the afternoon. But more than likely most places will not see any rainfall. Tomorrow looks to be a much better day for our rain chances as a low pressure system will move toward our area bringing with it a cold front that brings with it a decent shot of some rainfall. Rainfall amounts tomorrow night could range anywhere between 0.25" and 0.50".

While rain chances are pretty good for tomorrow night, the day tomorrow looks to be a lot like today was with temperatures in the low to mid 90s. The only difference that we will see is in the humidity. Heat indices tomorrow afternoon could top the 100° mark.

Forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with a light south wind near 5 mph. Low: 72°

Tomorrow: Hot and humid, 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, west wind at 5-10 mph. Heat indices as high as 100°. High: 93°

Tomorrow Night: 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, rainfall near a quarter of an inch, winds out of the north at 5-10 mph. Low: 65°
